Crowd lines both sides of street as men in civilian clothes march past, followed by open horse-drawn carriages. Park with trees across street; buildings visible beyond and at edge of picture. Typed on label on mat back: "Dewey Day! A section of the parade on Washington Boulevard. Admiral and Mrs. Dewey in first carriage, saluting the school children. June 9th, 1900. Detroit, Mich. J.E." Handwritten on label: "116." Label fragile and torn, especially on bottom. Name almost totally obscured.
