Description
Brick Italianate building prepared for demolition, viewed from across street. Most windows removed, roof partially stripped, steps removed. Had balustraded porches upper and lower levels. Tall brick building on one side, shorter building on other; taller buildings behind, one with fire escape. Cars along curb with blanketed horse hitched to wagon. Fire hydrant on near curb. Handwritten on mat back: "Waterman, Joshua W., 50 Washington Ave., 1881. The Waterman homestead, east side of Washington Boulevard. 50 Washington Ave. Destroyed Oct. 29, 1915. This picture taken at that date. Now no. 1258 Washington at Grand River - S.L. Bird store site."
