Palmer's Res on Woodward Ave. in 1878, his gift to the City rec'd the Name of Palmer Park. He owned the Merrill Block and gave Mason & Rice Archts their 1st office there in Sept. & paid their office rent for a year. When we moved into Bank Chambers built by Sidney D. Millar & John H. Bissell - there 28 years & then a total 49 yrs." Label on back: "Photographic sketches in and about the city of Detroit consisting of street and marine views, public buildings, churches, monumental, and other projects of interest, photographed and published by Jex Bardwell." Handwritten on label: "1040 Woodward Ave., Palmer, T. W. House." Handwritten on back of duplicate: "Senator Thos W Palmer's Homestead #2."
