Corner view of Perkins Hotel; man standing on corner; horse and cart in front of building; utility pole partially covered with handbills. Handwritten on back: "Built 1838, remodeled 1877, Perkins Hotel, S.E. cor. Grand River and Middle Sts., 1881; home of Charles Larned, cor. Larned St. and Woodward Ave. and was occupied as the "Detroit Cottage" (taverns kept by Amos Otis) after Larned died. Later moved to Grand R and Middle St." Stamped on back: "Farmer Bros., photographers, Detroit, Mich."
