Brick classical church with tall columns on porch closed by metal gate, viewed from a height across street. Trees along street. Printed on card back: "G.W. Edmondson, 148 Woodward Avenue, Detroit." Handwritten on card back: "Original photo of 1st M.E. Church, s.w. cor. Woodward & State, 1860. Built 1842." Typed on label on duplicate mat back: "First Methodist Episcopal Church, southwest corner Woodward and State, in 1860. Afterwards St. Andrews Hall." Handwritten on duplicate mat back: "1st M.E. Church, S.W. cor. Woodward and State St., 1860."
