Women in hats standing by iron fence with young girl; another young child rides in wagon on sidewalk. Handwritten on back: "Old Allen homestead, Griswold St." Handwritten on back of duplicate: "Home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Allen, Griswold. Where Miss Julia Allen had her kindergarden." Stamped on back: "Earle & Hawley, commercial photographers, 16 & 18 Clifford Street, Detroit, Mich."
