Portable sawmill with logs and rough-cut lumber. Workmen and horses posed around mill. Houses and other buildings in background. Typed on label on mat back: "Picture taken at Hastings, Barry County, Michigan in 1895. Over 1.000.000 [sic] feet of white oak logs cut by the saw mill that year into Car oak, cross ties and lumber. Picture given by Mrs. J.T. Lombard, Hastings, Mich."
