Smaller building behind somewhat obscured by trees and small piece of mirror-image house at right edge. Handwritten on front: "Newberry." Handwritten on back: "See: 977.4G91 H14, Grosse Pointe on Lake Sainte Claire ... 1886, p.63. Edge of James McMillan house showing; built on same plan, reversed." Duplicate print, of this house without McMillan house, exists with the following information printed on the back: "Photographic sketches, in and about the city of Detroit. Consisting of street and marine views, public buildings, churches, monumental, and other objects of interest. Photographed and published by Jex Bardwell." Handwritten on duplicate print back: "Grosse Pointe."
