Written on photo back: "In top hat, Frank Cody who became superintendent of Detroit Public Schools, here he is principal of old Delray before Delray was annexed to Detroit, in the first row, the fifth boy from the left is Burton A. Barns, a Detroit educator for 42 years and prior to retirement, principal of Chadsey High School, Mr. Barns died in July, 1945."
