Description
View of bell with wooden sign at Palmer Park, located west of the log cabin. Sign reads: "This bell was designed and cast in the foundry of Paula Gomez in France, 1793. It was taken to Mexico more than 100 years ago where it was used in a monastery to call the monks to prayer. There is a crown on top with a figure of the King on the side surrounded by other figures. Purchased by friends of Senator Palmer who gave it to the city of Detroit. Weight 1015 lbs."
