View of bronze statue of James Scott, sitting in chair, on marble base. Monument is located on Belle Isle near Scott Fountain. Inscription reads: "James Scott, 1831-1910. For the enjoyment of the people and for the adornment of his native city, James Scott bequeathed to Detroit his fortune to be used in the construction of this fountain. Erected MCMXXIII. For the good deed ofone comes benefit to many."
