Rackham presentation plaque, Rackham Golf Course
View of bronze tablet on wall of clubhouse at the Rackham Golf Course, located near Ten Mile Road and Wyoming (Rosewood). "This building with 133 acres of land to be used as a golf course was presented to the city of Detroit by Horace H. Rackham and Mary A. Rackham, November seventh, nineteen hundred twenty-four. This gift was made without ostentation or publicity and is characteristic of the modest donors whose zeal for public service and kindliness of spirit have remained unspoiled thruout all the years of their residence with us and who thus substantially voice the thought that the joy of giving wisely is the envied privilege of wealth. Common Council, city of Detroit. John C. Lodge, Acting Mayor, William P. Bradley, Frank B. Broderick, Fred W. Castator, Arthur E. Dingeman, Robert C. Ewald, James J. Murphy, John C. Nagel, John Stevenson. Richard Lindsay, City Clerk. Edward G. Heckel, Commissioner of Parks & Blvds."
