View of bronze tablet commemorating the Fire of 1805 in Detroit, installed at 220 West Jefferson between Shelby and Wayne. Inscription reads: "This tablet marks the starting point of the notable fire of June 11th 1805 which is commemorated in the City Seal. That fire destroyed every house save one in the ancient town of Detroit, it obliterated old lot lines and narrow streets and secured the wide avenues and public squares of the present day."
