View of the George Jay Moran Memorial Fountain, located at Northwestern Field. Inscription reads: "George Jay Moran, born New York, N.Y., April 3, 1885, died Detroit, Mich., February 3, 1944. This memorial is gratefully dedicated by the people to the memory of 'Shorty' recognized by Detroit youth as their champion on the sandlots of this city, as a co-founder of Detroit Amateur Baseball Federation, he was president 1920-1944."
