View of statue of Johann Frederich von Schiller, located on Belle Isle, on the southeast corner of Central and Vista. Monument designed by Herman Matzen. Inscription reads: "Schiller. Erected by citizens of German descent, Detroit, Michigan, 1907. Wir Wollen sein ein einzig Volk von Brudern in Keiner not uns Trennen und Gefahr."
