Group portrait of employees of Burton Abstract and Title Company, posing on steps of building. Printed on front: "Forty years ago. This interesting picture of members of the staff of the Burton Abstract and Title Company was taken in 1887 on the steps of the old Free Press building, on Larned and Shelby streets, where this firm was then located. Clarence M. Burton, second from the right in the second row, is still actively engaged in the business, though past his seventy-fourth birthday. The photograph is reproduced through the courtesty of W.B. Kerns, son of the late Charles V. Kerns, seen at the extreme right of the lower row. The force now numbers 150." Handwritten on back: "From the Detroit News, March 2, 1930, Rotogravure section."
