The Eastern high school is better known as the Harris school. It is situated on Pulford and Ellery streets, and was built in 1896 at a cost of $33,600. The names of the teachers at this school are: Spencer Levant Houghton, principal, chemistry and physics; Edith Ellen Pettee, geography, physiology, zoology; Alice Elizabeth Lynch, English, German, rhetoric; Isabelle Hosje, English and Latin."
