Description
View of the first American flag raising plaque on southwest corner of building located at Fort and Shelby Streets. Inscription reads: "This tablet marks the site where the American flag was first raised in Detroit, July 11, 1796 by Captain Moses Porter and a company of the United States Infantry. Erected by the Detroit Trust Company under the auspices of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Flag Day, June 14, 1927."
