View of Detroit riverfront; ferries docked along shore. Commercial buildings in background. Printed on front: "River front, Detroit, Mich." Printed on back: "River front. Virtually all the commerce of the Great Lakes, except that between Superior and Michigan, passes through the Detroit River. Immense freighters bearing their loads of ore, grain, coal, lumber and general merchandise are constantly in sight and this, added to the passenger steamers and ferry boats, makes the river front one of the most interesting points of the city. No. 551, published by A.C. Dietsche, Detroit, Mich. Made in Germany." Card is postmarked May 24, 1909.
