The 72-acre plot of ground on Jefferson Avenue, owned by the city and partially occupied by its waterworks pumping station, has been made one of Detroit's beauty spots. The water supply is pumped through a long tunnel from the intake pipe in Lake St. Clair to the distributing point. The ponderous machinery can pump 103,000,000 gallons of water in 24 hours." Handwritten on back in upper right corner: "7/27/12."
