View of General Alexander Macomb monument located at Washington Boulevard. Printed on front: "Macomb monument, Washington Blvd., Detroit, Mich." Printed on back: "Macomb's monument. On Washington Boulevard and Michigan Avenue, was unveiled in 1908 by the Michigan Society of United States Daughters of 1812, in commemoration of his distinguished services at the Battle of Plattsburgh, September 11, 1814. General Alexander Macomb was also the first governor of Michigan." Handwritten on back: "Dear Aunt & Cousin, You can expect to see us very soon after you receive this card. G & CJ are well. We arrived here 9:15 Sat. eve hope you are well. Anna." Card is postmarked October 9, 1911.
