Printed on back: "The Detroit Museum of Art was built by popular subscription of the citizens of Detroit at a cost of $225,000 in 1887. Its maintenance is paid for by the city and is open daily to the public. Its collection of art is valued at $500,000 and includes the Stearns Oriental collection, one of the best in the world, the James E. Scripps collection of old masters and large representations of the work of modern artists. Lectures to which the public is admitted free of charge are given regularly by the director and others." Handwritten on back: "July 11, 1911. Dear Friend, have found out why we came to ... two big ball games. Went to one yesterday. Theyr's [sic] one today. What next. May." Card is postmarked July 11, 1911.
