This fountain is located in the oldest of Detroit's recreation parks, being situated in the heart of the city, and through which runs the famous Woodward Ave. It was set aside by the city in 1854 and is noted for its magnificent shade trees." Handwritten on back: "Detroit, Mich., June 1, 1911. My dear cousin, Just a few lines to let you know that we think of you so much in your new home & hope you are gaining in health & strength. Lovingly, Nina. Will surely write soon." Card is postmarked June 1, 1911.
