View of brick pumping station at Waterworks Park; building has two cupolas. Man with bicycle poses on lawn; brick chimneys or smokestacks in background. Printed on back: "Pumping station, Water Works Park. The 72-acre plot of ground on Jefferson Avenue, owned by the city and partially occupied by its water works pumping station, has been made one of Detroit's beauty spots. The water supply is pumped through a long tunnel form the intake pipe in Lake St. Clair to the distributing point. The ponderous machinery can pump 103,000,000 gallons of water in 24 hours." Handwritten on back: "Dear Mother and all at home. We are all well at present and hope the same of you. It is very warm here. We are doing light housekeeping for the present, do not know just when we will start in our own home. Love to all & will write soon and let you know." Card is postmarked June 22, 1910.
