Printed on back: "Belle Isle pleasure boat, Detroit, Mich. This picture shows the steamer Promise, one of the fleet of the Belle Isle and Windsor Ferry Co. These boats leave Third Street and foot of Woodward Avenue every 15 minutes for Belle Isle. Detroit has the finest fleet of excursion steamers in the world. Published by Wolverine News Co., Detroit, Mich. Made in U.S.A." Handwritten on back: "Helo [sic] Charles, how are you & all the rest of folks give my best wishes to all & of course keep some for your self. E.L. Fredenburg." Card is postmarked September 3, 1911.
