Printed on back: "The Penobscot is one of the finest office buildings in the middle west. It was constructed by the late Simon J. Murphy and cost a round million. It is 14 stories in height, is equipped with six plunger elevators of the latest designs, has a vacuum cleaning system, automatic thermostats in every room and has polished hardwood floors throughout. It was first occupied in 1906. In the foreground is shown the People's State Bank. 164, published by A.C. Dietsche, Detroit, Mich. and Frankfort, Germany. Made in Germany."
