Woodward Avenue Baptist Church
Front and side view of Woodward Ave. Baptist Church; Gothic brick and stone church has bell tower and stained glass windows. Church is partially obscured by trees. Printed on front: "Woodward Ave. Baptist Church, Detroit, Mich." Printed on back: "Woodward Avenue Baptist Church situated at the corner of Woodward Avenue and Winder Street, is one of the finest examples of church architecture in Detroit. It is built of stone and the auditorium, planned closely after an old cathedral, is an imposing and spacious one. Though originally in a residence district, the church is now well inside the business portion of the city." Handwritten on back: "Detroit, Mich. April 6, 1911. My Dear Cousin, your pretty postcard received this a.m. it did seem so good to see Gracie's hand. Writing again I do feel very thankful ... our heavenly Father that you have been spared ... and ... you may live to enjoy many years of health & strength. Lovingly, cousin Nina." Card is postmarked April 7.
