Bats: right. Throws: right. Kirby began the 1949 season with Pirates, but was traded to the Giants. Appeared mainly in relief for the Polo Grounders. Record for campaign: 2-2. First experience in majors was brief tryout with Cubs. Joined Phillies in 1939. Traded to Dodgers, 1941, and to Pirates, 1947. Best season was 1941, with 22-9 record for a .710 percentage.
