Bats: left. Throws: left. Won 14 and lost 8 in 39 games in 1949. After 8 years in the minors, Al joined the Cardinals in 1943. Won 8 and lost 2 during rookie year. Spent 1944 and 1945 in service. Then returned to St. Louis to win 11 and lose 10. Hung up 14 wins against 8 losses in 1947. Al participated in 42 games for Redbirds in 1948, winning 10 while losing 6.
