He caught such brilliant ball with the Stockton High School team that he was signed in 1906 by the St. Louis National League club, playing that year with them and also with Cincinnati. In 1907 and 1908 he was the star backstop of the Newark Eastern League club, being secured by Detroit at the close of the last-mentioned year. Copyrighted and published by A.C.
