View of Tiffany bronze plaque presented to winner of the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup races on Long Island, New York. Inscribed on plaque: "Challenge cup presented by W.K. Vanderbilt, Jr. to the American Automobile Association under deed of gift to be raced for yearly by cars under 1000 kilos. Third race in America, October 6th 1906. Won by France, Darracq car, 110 h.p. driven by Louis Wagner. Time 4 hours, 50 minutes, 10 seconds, distance 29.11 miles." Handwritten on back: "Third Vanderbilt Cup race 1906, won by Darracq (Wagner). Races and racing--Vanderbilt Cup races, 1906."
