One of the best players in the National League, despite the fact that he forced to wear glasses. He led the National League in batting in 1931, swatting .349 while playing with St. Louis in 122 games. He was traded to Cincinnnati the following season, and has played with that club ever since. He first joined the Cardinals in 1923, and after a few years in the minors for experience, became a regular member of the team in 1925. He is an outfielder, 6 feet tall and weighs 185 pounds, batting and throwing right-handed. Last year hit .303 in 144 games. Lou Gehrig by arrangement with Christy Walsh.
