Detroit Fire Department engine house (Engine Company 6) on High St. and Russell, built April 1868. Small building with watchtower; horse-drawn fire engine and group of firefighters in foreground. Handwritten on back: "Engine house 6, cor. High and Russell Sts., 1881; Engine 6, High St., Waterloo Highway, now Vernor built April 1868."
