Belle Isle, the playground of the people of Detroit, is one of the most beautiful parks in this country. It has many beautiful canals, a large casino and pavilion where refreshments are served. It contains 702 acres and has twenty miles of macadam roadway. It has a fine zoo, aquarium, horticultural building and bathing pavilion with 1,000 private rooms. Belle Isle was purchased by Detroit in 1879 and the city has spent $2,000,000 to make it an enjoyable spot for her citizens and guests." Handwritten on back: "Arrived O.K. in Detroit and stayed last night at M[?] and will leave on the 1 o'clock train for Cleveland. Will write from there as soon as I get located. Love from all. V." Card is postmarked October 16, 1923.
