Description
View of Mumford High School. Label on back: "Mumford High School combines severe beauty with functional design to add the touch of modernity to Detroit's educational plant. The school building, located at 17525 Wyoming, was put into service last week although much construction remains to be done. When completed the school will cost approximately $4,500,000, including a pool, gymnasium and complete co-operative education unit. There will be 20 acres of playfield and athletic grounds in connection. The school is the first completely new plant to be built since 1929. It stands in the center of a heavily populated new residential area, hitherto unserved." Stamped on back: "Detroit Free Press, Sep 9, 1949."
