Description:
Old library building located on Gratiot Avenue between Library and Farmer Streets, viewed at an angle across curving sidewalks. Three-story Second Empire brick building, with arched windows, bust of unknown figure carved into front, and steps leading to pillared entranceway. Recorded in glass negative ledger: "D/Libraries-Detroit Public Library." Emulsion discolored and lifting on edges, with some flaking.
