Moross House on Jefferson Avenue
Description:
View of Moross House, oldest extant brick residence in Detroit. The two-story brick house was built by brickmaker Christopher Moross during the mid 1840's. A smaller white wood frame house is next door surrounded by a picket fence. Two women in dresses with bustles and knife-pleated skirts stand on the sidewalk. Recorded in lantern slide ledger: "D/Houses."
