Church of the Assumption, on south side of Gratiot Ave. one block east of Grotto Ave. Dark brick building with tall steeple in center, clock on bell tower, cross on top. Handwritten on back: "Gratiot Ave. near 7 Mile Road. Burned about 1896. Richard Pulcher, organist for 30 years. He died Nov. 1, 1889. Brother of Rev. James Pulcher. He, Richard, also taught both Catholic and Public schools for 30 years."
