Joined for duty and enrolled April 28, mustered May 11, 1898. Originally 1st Lt. 2nd Independent Bn. qnd [sic] Adj. M.N.G. Commissioned 1st Lieut. and Adjt. 31st M.V.I. May 8. Resign. accepted and honorably discharged from U.S. service June 30, 1898. Captain Adjutant 1st Regt Inf. MNG May 23, 1900."
