The rustic pulpit is entirely of natural growth, no joints, fastenings, or additions having een made below the points at which the trunks of the several trees were cut off. This wonderful growth was found by Mr. R. Connable, who had it in his heart to build an altar as a thank offering for having here found complete restoration to health, after thirty years of suffering from spasmodic asthma. The pulpit is to be presented to the Michigan Camp Ground Association at Bay View, while the right to derive revenue therefrom has been given into our hands for the benefit of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Petoskey. Each picture will bear the signature of the Maker and the Church Secretary. Ralph Connable [signed], maker."
