Printed on front: "Courtesy Detroit Institute of Arts. Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, 1658-1730. Founded Detroit in 1701. He left Detroit in 1710 to become Governor of Louisiana." Handwritten on back: "Cadillac, Antoine de la Mothe, 1658-1730. Louis XIV delivering to Chevalier de Cadillac the ordinance and grant for the founding of the City of Detroit.
