Printed on back: "View at entrance to Belle Isle Bridge, River View Park. Belle Isle is in the Detroit River, between Detroit and Windsor, Canada. The Island contains 702 acres and is entirely covered with one of the most beautiful parks in the United States, having some 21 miles of macadam roads, a magnificent casino, pavilions, boat houses, aquarium, horticultural hall and zoological gardens. The Island was purchased by Detroit in 1879. Since then $1,600,000 has been expended in beautifying it." Valentine-Souvenir Co. publisher trademark printed on back of card. Handwritten on back: "Feb. 8, 1916, Dear Emma, I got the box all O.K. and I thank you very much, you are a darling. Emma you think of your mother some time. I hope you got my letter. I was goto [sic] write to you girls. Sunday ... Mrs. Bailey came so I didn't get to it. I thought I was goin [sic] to get better but now I have such bain [sic] I can hartly [sic] stand it. I am glad when the day is gone so I can lay down. I don't believe I will ever get over this. I hope you ar [sic] all well. How is Roszella getin [sic] along, love to you all from your Mother."
