Transcript reads [in part]: To the honorable the Congress of the United States. The petition of Sarah Reynolds, late Sarah Harrison, widow of Joseph Harrison, late of Detroit, deceased, for herself and for and on behalf Leonard Harrison, Merinus Harrison and Charles Harrison, minors, sons and heirs at law of the said Joseph Harrison their father, humbly showeth that the said Joseph Harrison died at Detroit on the 21st of February 1805, leaving your petitioners his widow together with Leonard, Mirenus and Charles his children at that time and still under the age of 21 years to be providing for and supported by her [undecipherable] proceeding his death purchased a tract of land at auction under sheriffs sale, situated upon the River Rouge in the District of Detroit."
