Remained with them through 1947, with 3 years out for the armed forces. Traded to the Cleveland Indians in April 1948. With them for 2 seasons. Divided the earlier part of the 1950 campaign between San Diego and Sacramento of the Pacific Coast League. With Pittsburgh Pirates rest of season, hitting .206 for 40 games.
