Action shot of Claude Rossman swinging bat. Handwritten on card front, in faded white ink: "Claud Rossman, 1st base." Printed on card back: "Claud Rossman, first baseman of the Detroit Baseball Club, started playing professionally in the Connecticut League in 1900. In 1906 he played at first base for Cleveland, and was sold to Detroit. His fielding and batting have been sensational. Rossman is a left-handed thrower and batter. Copyrighted and published by A.C. Dietsche, Detroit, Mich., 1907." Handwritten on card back: "Sat. Oct. 24 08. It rained here all last night and this a.m. but cleared off nice this p.m. It is quite warm now. We won the football again today, score 29-2. Will write tomorrow giving you an account of it. Everything O.K. Hoping you are all well with love to all. E.A.S." Card is postmarked October 25, 1908.
